First Race of the Season!

My first race of the season was on Sunday, April 1.  The race took place at Bunny Hop Brook State Park in CT and it was part of the Root 66 Race Series.  Everyone was in great shape due to the mild winter and my race started off incredibly fast.  Although I was in the pack for the first half of the first lap, I fell behind towards the end after making some mistakes.  Overall, I felt good and I decreased my time by 20 minutes from the last time I raced the same course.  It was good to race so early in the season because I figured out what I need to fix on my bike and with my wardrobe and how to be better prepared for the next races.  Basically, my bottle cage broke off and I had to use my camelbak, which is very heavy and not suitable for racing.  I had the right tires on my bike, but my front wheel was bouncing around because my fork is broken.  I also need to seriously work on my climbing.  Hopefully I will fix these things by the next race and do better!
