The Dog Days of Summer, I mean Tarantula Days!

On July 21, we held an epic ride from Bonita, California.

This ride was held to help raise awareness and money for the Breast Cancer Fund. We had some very cool swag available for a minimal donation.

We offered two very different routes, our epic 50-mile ride or a 24-mile option. We had a great number of participants - 28 in all! The 50 miler group took off at 8 AM and the 24 mile group left at 8:15 AM.

Bonita is known for it beautiful scenery and wildlife population of coyotes, raccoons, squirrels, rabbits, skunks, tarantulas… wait. Did I say tarantulas?

(OK, so Laura’s foot was about 12 inches away from Harry, she filled her water bottle, stepped away, THEN noticed the tarantula.)

Yep, Harry the Tarantula surprised us while we were stopped for a water break. I think he was just as surprised to see us as we were him. So we tossed him a little piece of a LUNA bar as a snack and off we went to ride more of the Bonita countryside.

We decided to make a quick stop at the Arco training center. We flexed our muscles and gave a big shout-out. GO TEAM USA!

Then back in the saddle for the trip back.

Yep, you never know what in store when you bike with us. One thing is for sure you will have fun!
