Terra Castro 12th at Boulder 70.3 (Half Ironman)

Terra Castro going back to her roots!

This photo reminds Terra just how much she has ALWAYS loved riding her bike.  Since she can remember, she has been a cyclist- didn’t even matter if she had a sailor dress on. She and her bike have been inseparable.

Here’s Terra reminiscing after the Boulder Half Ironman, on Sunday August 5th in Boulder, CO:

“This summer I have found that “inner kiddo” and have spent 20 hours on my bike a week. And we are still friends.  Training in Boulder for 12 weeks, I have definetly rekindled that love for the bike, especially since I don’t have a car and have been bike commuting a lot. Just me and my bicycle.”

With Ironman Louisville around the corner, on Aug 26th, I decided to jump into the Boulder 70.3, since I am living 2 miles from the start line. I was able to improve upon my swim and bike from Vineman and have fun toeing the line. I came out of the swim with the current 70.3 World Champion so a great start to the day and settled into a bike PR, on the “untapered” legs. Great way to build confidence before heading to Kentucky.  Sometimes you just have to rekindle that inner kiddo and toe the line again!”

It was a stacked field in Colorado, and included three past world champions.  Terra was 12th at the end of the day, after a great swim and her PR for the bike leg.

Top three finishers in women’s pros class:
1. Liz Blatchford
2. Melissa Hauschildt
3. Leanda Cave
