Celebrating the Rain Stopping with a Great Ride!!
We started by handing out some great goodie bags to every rider with some of our loot from the Freihofer’s Run, with full sized LUNA bars for everyone! Then it was off to the trails. We started our ride on the new sections of trail we had cut in our early season Trail Building Day. They are really great trails with lots of technical switchbacks and climbs, definitely not the easiest way to warm up however (hint hint Theresa)! Having tested our mettle on the hard parts, we headed to the established trails for some smooth single track and to work on some obstacle skills. Everyone had a chance to try out board ramps over logs, a single board teeter-totter, and some really fun down and up whoopdies! Jenny Liu gave our riders some great lessons on how to keep momentum through obstacles to make it easier to clear uphill sections. Everyone got a chance to learn something (including some bike swapping so hardtail riders could experience full suspension and vice versa)! Back in the parking lot, everyone agreed it had been a great ride and it’s a lot more fun when it doesn’t rain! People were really excited about riding and eager for our amazing upcoming events, like our Jimena Florit Dolzadelli Clinic and the Saratoga Mountain Biking Association Mud Event. It has only been a month but the season is off to a fantastic start. It can only get even better from here! |
