Team New York Mountain Bike lucked out again this Saturday when the rain that promised held off for exactly long enough for us to fit in an incredibly successful beginner skills clinic with Jimena Florit-Dolzadelli, a retired pro-racer with an impressive list of career achievements!  Not only an amazing racer, Jimena proved herself an excellent instructor, with a talent for breaking down skills into manageable parts and making everyone feel comfortable trying new things!

After worrying all week that yet another event would be cancelled due to the seemingly constant rain, Saturday June 13th dawned cloudy but rain-free for the Saratoga Mountain Biking Association (SMBA) Mud Event.  Held annually, the Mud Event offers something for all kinds of mountain bikers.

After a full week of endless (really endless!) rain, our team was thrilled that the forecasted showers decided to hold off for our Women’s Only Monday Ride at the Luther Forest Trails in Malta, NY.  Everyone was in good spirits and eager to get back on the trails!

This last Saturday, our team branched out from our typical world of mountain biking to introduce runners to LUNA products at the 31st Annual Freihofer’s Run for Women!  This event, drawing almost four thousand women runners including a number of former Olympians, took place on May 30th at the Empire State Plaza in Albany, NY.

It is a rare cyclist who has never experienced the frustration of having a mechanical problem while out on a ride, far from the support of a bike shop. Simple skills like changing a flat tire, adjusting a derailleur or fixing a broken chain can be the difference between a long hike and enjoying the rest of a great ride. Our Bike Maintenance Clinic at Elevate Cycles Clifton Park made sure everyone who attended will be able to keep on riding!
