Denver Run TEAM

We’ve had a busy past few weeks, and even had our first run cancelled due to inclement weather (Read—snow!!! The first week of October!) We’ve been keeping busy with a combination of fun runs and some serious distances. We love our local races here in Denver!

On Sept. 16th Leyla Scott represented the LUNA Chix in the Hustlehoff 5K dressed as Rainbow Brite! The Das Hustlehoff is part of Oktoberfest here in Denver.

Christine Rice represented the LUNA crew on September 25th at Fans on the Field race to benefit the NSCD, National Sports Center for the Disabled, running the 10K in 1:06:15.

Another fun event happened on October 1st, the Skirt Chaser 5K, sponsored by Skirt Sports. Skirt Sports Skirts are a huge favorite for the Denver LUNA Chix, so we were more than happy to get our run on! While not all of us were able to make it to the event, team leader Andrea Palumbo ran the 5K in 00:28:08. Woo-hoo!

The LUNA Chix had a great showing at the Denver Rock n’ Roll marathon, with the following finishers and times:

Half Marathon
Andrea Palumbo 2:08:19
Lynsay McCloy; 2:01:48

Half Marathon Relay
Christine Rice and her dad Ralph finished the Half Marathon relay in 2:09:54!

Many of our LUNA Chix participants also ran one of the events, and for several it was their first ever half marathon and marathon ! Congrats to Jodi D., Jody R., Shannon, Margie, Tamara, Rachel, and Jenny for completing the Denver Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon!!! Way to go ladies!!! A shout out to Audrey who ran a half marathon in Fargo, North Dakota that same day!!! And lastly, congrats to Erin J. who completed the Denver Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon!!! If I missed anyone, you all ROCK!!!!
