As a lifelong athlete, and now avid runner, I am always looking for a new way to challenge myself, both physically and mentally. Knowing this, it may come as no surprise that competing in a triathlon has been something of interest for quite some time. If you are wondering why I have not already just signed up and completed one, if it has been on my radar for so long - the answer is pretty simple, I have been afraid. Afraid of the unknown mainly - like what kind of gear do I need…what is a transition station…and what the heck is the difference between a sprint, olympic or 70.3?
