Local News from the Road
I’ve been a little distracted lately…
First, mountain bike season was abruptly interrupted by what I thought was a passing snow storm in October that dropped about 2 feet of snow…when I am I going to learn to stop buying new mountain bikes IN SEPTEMBER?! Anyway, so strap on the skis; take the dogs out; do some skinning…we’ll be back to biking soon enough. But not so…as I nervously checked and rechecked the arrival status of my parent’s plane from the east coast since Dad had a big elk hunting expedition planned it snowed…and it continued to snow…and snow…and snow…until it dropped more than 3 feet in the Bridger Mountain Range. First they just scouted in the truck; then switched to 4WD ATV’s and finally to snowmobiles. Zero heart attacks and zero elk later; they gave in and sat around and ate venison, elk, bison and antelope…procured just in case…and grumbled about it. Not to be mean, but I mean… ITS DUMPING!!!...I could barely wait to get them out the door. And then we were skiing again and have been ever since. Today is well below zero with high avy danger (and several already triggered) so I guess I’ll work for a change…and buy new mountain bike shorts online. Check out the Harlot Houlihan shorts…after Margaret I presume. They are hot…and I like the long legs that won’t get hooked on the seat when I’m WAAY back. Thanks for the sweet deal, Jennifer! |
