Amber has been running since the age of eight, when she started playing softball simply because she liked running the bases. She joined the cross country team in junior high school, and in high school she competed both on the cross country team and the track team. In college, Amber branched out to lacrosse, scuba diving, yoga, and entered the occasional race for fun--Bay to Breakers in San Francisco and the Bend Marathon in Bend Oregon. In 2004, Amber moved to San Francisco and "found her running legs" again and began running for fun and fitness. A New Year's resolution in 2008 prompted her to join the Golden Gate Running club, which ultimately inspired her to take on trail races and half and full marathons on a regular basis. Amber has run numerous trail races with PCTR and Envirosports and consistently places in her age group. She also ran the San Diego Rock 'n Roll Marathon in 2008, where she qualified for the Boston Marathon which she'll run in 2010. Amber is an Ambassador for Lululemon Cow Hollow where she used to lead the running club. Amber also volunteers for Girls on the Run. http://www.girlsontherun.org/

Meet the team
Hello! We are members of the Luna Chix Bay Area Trail Running team, a group of female, non-competitive trail runners. While we lead different lives, our shared passion is running the beautiful hills of the Bay Area. As a team, our goal is to raise money and awareness for the Breast Cancer Fund and to inspire other women to get out and PLAY! As a group we’ll support and inspire each other for a good cause!
All proceeds from our events support the Breast Cancer Fund. |

I've been running for over ten years, and am excited to join Team Luna Chix Bay Are Run. I can't wait to compete again (after a long hiatus since high school track and cross country) and have already registered for two races this spring to get me going. Kelly

I'm looking forward to my first season as part of the Luna Chix team! I've been running for the past 15 years but only set my sights on the marathon distance the past 5 years. I can't wait to lace up the trail shoes and get outdoors this season with a great group of gals for runs and races of all distances! Traci

There is nothing like hitting the trail to lift your spirts and let out pent up aggression. I'm so lucky to have meet the Luna Chix who have turned me on to trail running and all the benefits of getting outside and playing. This is my second season and I'm loving it. |
