Inga loves mountain biking. So much that she has felt inclined to give back to the sport that makes her so happy. First working for the International Mountain Bicycling Association as part of the Trail Care Crew program, where she had the opportunity to travel and experience trails all over. After that experience, she returned to a more conventional existence where she continues to donate a good deal of her free time. She currently holds a pro-bono role with the Bicycle Trails Council of the East Bay as their Membership Coordinator and is also a ride leader for the monthly Ride Like a Girl rides. She also works with Bikeskills.com as their NorCal Marketing Coordinator and has attended almost every clinic. She loves riding bikes of all kinds with a full quiver to choose from including: a commuter bike, road bike, bmx bike, hard tail and full suspension mountain bike. You can find her pedaling just about anywhere in the bay area. She particularly loves Downieville, Northstar, Mount Ashland, and just about anything in Santa Cruz, but you'll find her day dreaming most about her next visit to Whistler, BC.
A three time national champion in martial arts in Brazil and a Supercross racer for several years, Jackie transitioned successfully into competitive bicycling in the early 1990s. She started racing in both cross-country and downhill events when she moved to Boulder, CO for school. Jackie loves to ride and loves to help others develop their riding skills. She has been helping NorCal High School MTB League clinics for the past 5 years, and helping coach the Redwood High mountain bike team for the past 5 years as well.
Jackie has a BA in civil engineering and a masters degree in computer engineering. She lives in San Rafael, CA and loves to ride her bike around the beautiful trails of Marin county.
I’m originally from Canada, but have spent most of my life in California. I migrated up to Nor Cal over 20 years ago for college then medical school and now work as an emergency medicine doc at San Francisco General Hospital and an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF. I love my job working in the ER and fell lucky teaching cool classes like wilderness medicine. I’ve been active in sports all my life; swimming, gymnastics and track when I was younger, but in college I discovered mountain biking and the amazing joy of playing in the beautiful outdoors. That was it for me. I raced cross country in my earlier years, but now as a doc, a mom to an amazing little 5 year old rider Dean, and a wife to my equally obsessed-with-biking husband Mark, I tend to just ride my bike for fun. Apart from biking, I love to snowboard, kitesurf, do yoga, and travel to crazy places all around the world (often to bike).

Marika Holmgren is an event producer for progressive non-profit organizations. She specialize in producing green, sustainable events that reflect the values and mission of her clients. She began mountain biking about 8 years ago when her brother gave her a mountain bike as a birthday gift, and she's been hooked ever since. Marika loves finding other women to ride with, since it always seems like she's with the boys. She is a breast cancer survivor who mountain biked through chemotherapy. Showing up to the doctor's office for her injections with mud on her face was the ultimate FU to cancer :). Marika is the board chair of ForestEthics, and is a Huffington Post blogger.
I have always thought of the outdoors as nature's perfect playground. Living several years in Maui, windsurfing in the waves and surfing, I always thought of myself as a water girl. I was introduced to mountain biking about 2 years ago and was immediately hooked. Owning my own business Sefte, which is a lifestyle brand of signature hand made bedding and linens. Mountain biking to me has become a great lifestyle as well. Not only does it keep you fit, it allows you to get out in the beautiful mountain terrain and enjoy all the unique aspects of riding on single track or fire roads. I am excited to be a part of the Luna Chix because there is something truly unique about riding with a group of women that is inspiring and motivating, all while helping to raise money for breast cancer awareness.
I have never really had any special hobbies until I began mountain biking about five years ago. Up until that time, I was a gym rat. My husband-to-be introduced me to the sport and all we did was argue about me having to climb up one more hill. Well, all of that has changed. I no longer have issues with climbing, actually I enjoy the climb these days. For me, mountain biking really has changed who I am. I enjoy taking more chances in life these days and really love to ride. I've been teaching elementary school for the last seven years and would love to get my students involved in the sport. During the winter months, you'll find me snowboarding in Tahoe. My favorite places to mountain bike are Downieville, Oakridge, Oregon, and Moab. Locally, you can find me riding at Skeggs Point, Joaquin Miller, or China Camp. This is my first year as a Luna Chix and I am looking forward to ridng with our team and also helping other women get involved in the sport. I have done one 24-hour race at Laguna Seca and one eight hour race in Cool, Ca, (which is a fund raising event for cancer.) Our team of two, that consisted of my fellow teammate, Marika and myself, also known as "Team Save the Boob" took third place. The way I look at it, life is full of peaks and valleys. My motto...When in doubt, pedal!
I'm a mom of 2 boys, ages 3 and 5. A former Critical Care Nurse who changed careers and is now a District Sales Manager for Hologic, the largest women's healthcare company in the world. I specialize in Breast Health and Breast Biopsy. I've been active my whole life from Gymnastics as a child, to triathlons, mountain bike racing, adventure racing, snowboarding and a painful marathon. My husband is also a bike enthusiast and has been an influence on having a bike for every occasion; between the both of us and our 2 boys we have 14 bikes! As a busy working mom I don't get to log the hours I used to but I still always make time. It's a life style! I look forward to being inspired and inspiring women to get involved with mountain biking and raising money for breast cancer awareness. Get your mammogram and your pap smear! Almost all cancer can be taken care of with early detection!
I'm a San Francisco native, but spent eleven years on the East Coast before returning to the Bay Area years ago. I love to further the cause of LUNA Chix by getting women on mountain bikes while raising money for the Breast Cancer Fund. I'm a Director of Marketing and Communications for a local performing arts presenter.
Originally from Scotland I got my Geography degree at Cal and now love living and working in Marin County. Formerly a track runner, soccer player and road runner I didn't start mountain biking until my son started racing for Redwood High School in 2004. The following year I started racing and coaching. My husband has always been a positive influence as he grew up building his own bikes in Marin County.
I love racing cross country, off-road duathlons, sprint adventure races, Triathlons and Xterras.
I really enjoy introducing more women to the sport of mountain biking and meeting the fun loving women already in the sport.
