The Fourth Sport of Triathlon

Triathlon is more than swimming, biking and running…there is one more “sport” and that is nutrition. Whether you are competing in a beginner triathlon or an Iron distance race, coordinating your nutrition for training and race day is crucial to feeling good and competing well. Generally speaking, it is important to eat several, smaller meals throughout the day and drink lots of water. I like to keep a stash of LUNA bars at my office and in my gym bag so I can ward off hunger attacks with something healthy. My favorite flavor is White Chocolate Macadamia - yummy! I also prepare my sports drink and nutrition when I’m packing up my gear for the next day’s training - that way I won’t forget!

Join us at our next training session and we’ll offer you tips on what to eat (and when) during your next training day or race. We are happy to answer any questions you may have!
