Albany LUNA Chix run the Title Nine Mother’s Day Race
Lucky for Kristen the Title Nine Mother’s Day run was the same weekend as CU’s graduation! It snowed the night before graduation but in typical Boulder style it was beautiful and warm two days later on Mother’s Day. 1,785 women ran the race, many pushing baby joggers. LUNA was a major sponsor giving protein bars in the reusable race totes and handing out LUNA bars before and after the race. It was a zero waste event, something we need to push harder on in New York! Lots of great sponsors, a live band, and all racers received a necklace after crossing the finish line. Kristen was 27th overall, 2 in her age group, and first non-Coloradan. However to keep her in check she was passed with less than a mile to go by a 10 year old! Wow was that ever inspiring - she was running like the wind and a gracious athlete after the race. We want to hear about your events too! COMMENTS |
